Antheans are highly social beings that thrive on contact and close knit groups. Here, while she had her family there weren't enough Antheans here to fulfill the social needs of her species. So she started reaching out to others. Others in this case being transforming, sentient, mechanical... not robots but close enough.

It wasn't much to prepare for them to come. Due to their size they brought a few chairs out of the house. Tom and Aletayria's house was small, even by human standards. The greenhouse attached to it was probably bigger than the living space. And there were cats, a large number of them, all excited about the hubbub and the fact they could read from their alien companions that wanted visitors were coming. Some of the cats had wings, others were oddly colored... one was a raccoon, a part of the family due to a mistaken identity.

Tommy of course stayed inside reading and disinterested in everything though she assumed when their giant guests came they might get his attention. She and Tom had gone out on the porch to sit and sip tea while they waited. It would be good to have company even if they might not fit in the house.

Tom is so used to mental contact that Laserbeak speaking in his mind hardly gets noticed.

"I design spacecraft and planes." He tells her while stroking her head. To be fair, he's in a bit of awe over the idea of something mechanical, bird like and sentient. "I find your form beautiful. Is it rude to ask about your abilities?"

He doesn't want to be offensive but there is part of his mind that would love to know the technical.. biological?... specs and abilities she has. As a researcher it is hard to resist the urge but doesn't want to treat her like a thing. He knows she is far more than a plane or an object.
