Personality: Calm, loving and peaceful she can be protective of family since her species is nearly extinct. She is intellectual, patient, driven to help her species survive. History:
Aletayria was born at the end of the wars that caused the ecological collapse of Anthea. By the time she was old enough to venture into the world with her family on research trips most of the plant and animal life on Anthea was dead. Her mother, a zoologist or ecologist in human terms, inspired her at a young age to start collecting and protecting the remaining life on the planet. With the support of both her parents, her father studied medicine, she set up a facility dedicated to the preservation of the remaining Anthean species. Her research into genetic technology allowed the scientific community to maintain genetic diversity in the small remaining populations.
As the environment continued to collapse she turned more to medicine and resource conservation, particularly water. She worked on the team that developed the Anthean water conservation suits and later, helped train her cousin, Thomas Newton (iamjustvisiting), for the six month trip to Earth. She was on a research mission that was diverted to see about the fate of her cousin on Earth when they discovered the derelict Stardust capsule and the nearly dead Major Tom within.
Due to the dislike of humans most Antheans on the vessel wanted to leave him to die or worse. Aletayria personally nursed Tom to health over several months. Treating him for oxygen deprivation, hypothermia, and radiation poisoning. She first began modifying the advanced Anthean medicine to treat humans during this time. Due to so much time with him and their similar interests as scientists they became friends and eventually, partially through Tom's charisma and charm, became lovers. Their first child (ziggyplayedguitar) was born sickly and nearly died. Her father refused to help her or the child and they nearly died. Though she is understanding of the mindset her husband has never forgive her father. Other children were conceived but none survived until birth. Eventually Tom yearned for Earth and returned. Her child also left for Earth when he foresaw the destruction of Earth in a vision. It was Ziggy who informed her that her cousin still lived.
She continues to look for a planet to evacuate her people to though she has yet to find one and things are becoming dire. She is hopeful that her child will have an effect on humans and make Earth a possible place but she knows better than to rely on something so uncertain.

Nexus Canon
Ziggy brought Aletayria to the Nexus to reunite his parents. She's set up a greenhouse and research facility (small) to grow food which can be taken back to Anthea. She has also conceived a healthy baby girl, Zyda, who unlike Ziggy doesn't have as mismatched genetics and few health problems.
She lives with Tom and Thomas in a small house on the edge of the wilds. Where she is often visited by Astro, Halloween Jack, Ziggy and several other residents regularly.
